Free Agent Deal

Task

It is the start of the 2000-2001 Major League Baseball season and you are the manager of the Chicago Cubs. Two new players have just been made available for the free agent draft. Your top shortstop was just injured and is lost for the year and possibly for his career. As luck would have it, the two players eligible for the draft are shortstops Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees and Nomar Garciaparra of the Boston Red Sox.

Your job is to use the Internet to find their statistics from the 1998-1999 season and complete the charts below. Analyze these statistics to determine which player you would select for the Cubs. Be sure to support your selection with statistical data.
