Psyc345 Memory Lab

Empathy set

This study concerns how people empathize with others.. For instance, when people empathize they try to look at things from another person's perspective. Attached you'll find a pile of cards here which describe what this person, Ellen, did in a variety of situations. What you need to do is to sort the cards into three piles. So that we can get an idea of what your piles mean to you, write down a label for each of your piles either while you are sorting or when you are through.

After you have finished sorting, you'll be asked why Ellen did what she did; your task will be to try to anticipate Ellen's own answers to these same questions.

After you have finished sorting, you'll be asked to recall as many of the episodes as you can...In sorting use the criterion for which episodes go into which piles that you think will help you most in remembering the information on the card.
